Honbit does not collect personal information from children under 14. Every screen that takes a birth date blocks dates that would make you younger than 14. If we learn that information belongs to a child under 14, we delete it. If you think your child's information was entered by mistake, write to [email protected].
Your birth date, time, place and name (optional) to compute your saju. If you sign in with Google: your Google account id, name, email and profile photo. If you sign in with an email link: only your email address — the link itself is stored as an irreversible value for 30 minutes and discarded once used. Daily-card history is stored in your browser (localStorage). We also keep an anonymous random identifier in your browser to count visits and returning visitors — it identifies a browser, not a person.
To compute your saju, fortune and compatibility, save your profile, show your cards, and identify your account. Your email and name are used to run your account and — only if you opt in to marketing — to tell you about new features, events and news. We don't send marketing before you opt in (and you can withdraw anytime), and we never sell your personal data to third parties.
When signed in, your profile is stored in our database (an Oracle Cloud server in Singapore) tied to your account. Daily history stays on your device. To delete, email us below.
When you open a letter while signed in, that day's letter (the text computed from your birthday, its episode number and the time you opened it) is stored with your account. It is used only for your streak and continuity, and is deleted automatically after 90 days. Letters read without signing in are not stored.
Honbit uses no third-party ad network. We load no advertising or tracking scripts and use no third-party analytics tool. You will see one banner near the bottom of the page, but we made it and serve it from our own server, so your connection information never reaches an ad company. We use browser storage (cookies and localStorage) to remember your display settings, keep you signed in and count visits; blocking it will not seriously affect the service. One exception: we load Korean web fonts from Google Fonts, so at that moment your connection information (IP address and browser type) reaches Google.
Your card and payment details are handled by KakaoPay for payments in Korean won, and by Gumroad, our Merchant of Record, for payments in US dollars. Honbit never stores your card number or payment method — we only receive what you bought and a payment identifier to grant Pro access.
We entrust processing to the companies below to run the service. Most are located outside Korea, so that much information is transferred overseas — the transfer happens when you use the relevant feature, and it is sent over the network. Oracle Cloud (Singapore) hosts the server and the database, which holds all stored account information, and receives connection information; GitHub (United States) keeps database backup copies for 90 days; Cloudflare (United States) handles the domain, CDN and mail routing and receives connection metadata; MailerSend (a United States company storing data in the European Union) receives your email address and message content; Google (United States) receives sign-in authentication data and, when serving Korean web fonts, connection information; Gumroad (United States) receives the amount and buyer email for overseas payments; Telegram (outside Korea) receives the author name and title contained in fan-story report alerts. KakaoPay, Naver and Kakao are Korean companies used for payment and sign-in, so they are not an overseas transfer. You may refuse an overseas transfer, but refusing one the service requires — hosting, authentication or payment — means that feature cannot be used. We never sell your personal data.
You can sign in to view or correct your information, sign out, or delete everything yourself with the account-deletion button on the My Honbit screen, at any time. You can also withdraw marketing consent at any time. To request access, correction, deletion or suspension of processing, write to [email protected] and we will act without delay and tell you the result.
This service is not directed to children. The idol dataset includes only people aged 18+.
Name: Kisang Nam · Position: CEO · Contact: [email protected]. The service is operated by NCE Co., Ltd. (CEO Kisang Nam, business registration 264-81-26068, e-commerce filing 2017-Seoul Gangnam-00033, 55 Ogeum-ro 11-gil, Room 214-458, Songpa-gu, Seoul, Korea). Send any question, complaint or request for redress about personal data to that address and we will answer without delay.
Account information and your saju profile are kept until you delete your account. Letters are deleted automatically after 90 days, and access and usage logs have their browser information and referring address stripped after 30 days, leaving only anonymous statistics that cannot be traced to a person. Pressing the account-deletion button on the My Honbit screen immediately deletes your account details, saju profile, bias choices, letters and notification subscription. Fan stories and comments that other people are reading stay up, but the author information is removed so they become anonymous. Records that Korea's e-commerce law requires us to keep — contract and payment records for 5 years, consumer complaint and dispute records for 3 years — are stored separately for that period and used for no other purpose. Electronic files are deleted so they cannot be recovered, and we keep no personal data on paper.
If you turn on notifications, we store the subscription endpoint and encryption keys your browser creates. Those values point to a device and browser, so we treat them as personal data. They are deleted when you turn notifications off or delete your account. Notification text never contains an idol's name or a score.

We use storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and count visits. Nothing goes to outside ad companies. Privacy policy
